The title is self-explanatory by the golden egg in the center. I did this on the fly, but paid meticulous attention to detail when it came to the placement of the floating 3D objects. The most difficult part was deciding which category to place it in: While having very strong fractal elements, it has a near-psychedelic environment, free-floating geometric objects, a surrealistic hillscape, and was completly done on my computer.

i think you did a great job... i like how you designed the dice with the patterns... my favorite part of it though is the top center... i enjoy how the lines form somewhat of a circle and then gets dark in the bottome center part of that.... does this have any symbolism, or were you just having fun?
:icongarathaan:
The dice were made by drawing cubes, cylinders and the egg in Amorphium 3D, and transporting fractal sets from my Fractal Creations program and wrapping them around the various geometric objects. The background is also a fractal of a different nature. The lighting was achieved because in Amorphium 3D you can adjust the 'lights' to simulate real-world conditions, and because I was able to manipulate 3D objects, I was able to tweak the positioning of everything.

As for symbolism: not consciously, but perhaps subconsciously, there is some symbolism going on here, as none of us are truly aware of all of the wheels and cogs that drive our train of thought:)

Thank you for the critique!

I think my favorite part of this image is how the renderer (Amorphium) picked up the fractal on the egg and used it as a bump map... this gives the egg a very worked feel, as though it were carved or molded... I think a clearer view of it would do it more justice though.

the mandala pattern on the red dice is also quite cool.

look forward to more like this.

Wow! I kinda speechless with this. I guess the first word that comes to mind is very creative. You did this with a 3D program right, which one, 3d max??
:icongarathaan:
I used Micrografx Simply 3D 2 and Fractal Creations.

and thank you!
